Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!
What if I don't love my Almost Perfect bag?

Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

My first Butterfly, not my last

When I saw the Meadow release, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to try the Butterfly Bucket Bag. I am usually a medium crossbody gal, but I think the Butterfly is just as roomy and I love the two inside pockets on the sides. Meadow is stunning, so as I was traveling recently I stopped at an overlook in the Blue Ridge Mountains to take a photo of her with a gorgeous backdrop. The quality and variety of PLG keeps me coming back! Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves for us next.

I expected to like this more than my coldbrew bucket bag, but I think they’re tied. Just as spacious as my large bucket, but more refined for a different look. It fits my full size vintage wallet, a large love bug, a penny pouch, a taco, my phone, my kindle, and a sidekick with room to spare! It might even fit a smaller sized library book, but it doesn’t fit the large hardcover book I’m currently reading.

For me, this bag is perfection. The Lagoon color is gorgeous and it’s soft, which makes this bag feel perfectly comfortable. It stays open when I want it to, sitting on the floor by my chair, but the snap is easy and fast to close it. The hook closure inside makes it super secure and nothing will fall out. It holds more than I need and is not heavy. The strap is removable and adjustable, double up for a perfect shoulder bag. It’s a bit shorter than the drawstring bucket.

I ordered the butterfly bag in Anjou. The AP bag I received felt a little dry to me, but perhaps that is the nature of this particular leather. I made the decision to condition the bag with Bick 4 and am so glad I did. The color is still gorgeous and the bag feels so nice. I found a wider strap that I think complements the bag and can't wait to carry it this spring.

This is my first Butterfly Bucket and I got the color Sunshine. She is so soft and pretty. I did add a braided shoulder strap and love that, too. Added sienna littles and she is perfect!
This bag is hands down my favorite Portland Leather bag. My first bag that I ever ordered on the site was a nutmeg butterfly bucket. I now have 3. I love the shape, the size, it fits everything I need it to. I absolutely love this bag and highly recommend it to anyone.
I don't know why it took me to long to try the butterfly but WOW am I glad that the stunning patchwork bag drew me in and made me a huge butterfly fan!
At first I ordered the Nutmeg and I really was not a fan; however I was able to swap for a black and it's my new favorite bag! I can fit a small canvas organizer, my lovebug wallet, fortune cookie pouch, mini hairbrush, small canoe, and large pinch pouch and still have room!
