Our durable leather goods are unlined, featuring the natural suede side of the hide. Because leather is a natural material, slight color and batch variations are normal. Factors like hide age, season, and dye absorption can all affect the final shade, making each piece uniquely yours.
Our leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Full Grain: Meticulously sourced from the finest hides, this premium material boasts unique textures and character, showcasing nature's artistry at its best. As time passes, watch as its surface develops a unique patina, telling your personal journey through the years. Unlike processed leathers, full grain leather stands the test of time, due to its unmatched strength and resilience. Its dense fibers offer exceptional resistance to wear, cuts, and moisture, our full grain leather ensures lasting beauty that only gets better with age.
Top Grain: Top-grain starts from the same premium zone of the hide but is lightly sanded and finished for a more uniform surface. That light correction softens and evens the face while keeping most of the strength you want. Takes pigment and protective finishes beautifully, which helps with colorfastness and stain resistance. Ages gracefully, especially when we keep the finish thin enough to let the leather breathe and break in.
We use top-grain when a smoother cosmetic is the goal—think color consistency across large panels—without walking away from the core strength you expect from a Portland bag.
Pebbled: Unlike most brands that use artificial stamping methods to create patterns, our pebbled leather is achieved through a natural tumbling process. The distinctive raised, pebble-shaped texture adds sophistication and makes a bold statement wherever you go. But it's not just about looks—pebbled leather is built to last. Worried about daily wear and tear? Don’t be! The unique pebbled surface ages gracefully, developing a natural patina that will evolve for years to come!
Suede: Our suede leather begins with an intricate process: the hide is split to separate the soft underside from the top layer. This top layer is then tanned, buffed, sanded, and dyed to create the signature velvety texture that defines high-quality suede. Naturally slouchy and pliable, suede leather ages gracefully, developing a rich patina that tells its own story over time. Most natural imperfections are gently smoothed away during production, while subtle traces—like healed veining and the soft, napped surface—are preserved to celebrate the leather’s unique character and charm.
Because leather is a natural material, slight color and batch variations are normal. Factors like hide age, season, and dye absorption can all affect the final shade—making each piece uniquely yours.

Squishy Pebbled Perfection
by: Maggie R.
I LOVE this bag! It fits everything I need, and is absolutely gorgeous - I love the magnetic closures inside the bag that help it keep its shape!
Better Than I Ever Imagined!
by: Sharon N.
I have been looking for a way to store all my journaling supplies in one place. When I saw the Large Belle, I thought…just maybe!! Well, I finally bought a Shadow Lime large Belle and it is PERFECT for my journaling “house purse”. My Hobonichi Cousin with cover on cover fits perfectly, as do a few other notebooks, my fountain pens, my Wasabi Widemouth pouch full of Tombows, a few sticker and washi boxes, and more. I think it’s full and then I stuff something more into it. And that carrying handle is everything! It’s so perfect I need about 3 more for some of my other hobbies!
Belle Surprised Us All!
by: Donna M.
This was NOT a bag I thought I'd like. Turns out I was right, cuz I LOVE her. The leather is amazing, the pullups on color of Westward Blue are delicious. I'm normally a crossbody gal, but the grab handle on this one is swaying me. There's no inner pocket, but the flat base makes storing littles easy peasy! ♥️
🫒🫶🏻Pebbled Olive Belle
by: Jacquie B.
I purchased the large Belle bucket in pebbled olive and she’s an amazing color with great pebbles and leather character. First time trying this bag and I love the thick grab handle and the amount of space it has!
Obsessed 🤩 🍋🟩
by: Kristin S.
Want something new that’s lovely, out of the ordinary, and also quite functional? C’est Belle! This bag really surprised me. It’s especially fun and easy to shoulder or crossbody carry with a wide strap added! Can’t recommend her enough. This gorgeous shade of green is called Shadow Lime 🍋🟩 and I’m obsessed. Had to grab a matching Fortune Cookie for her, to keep my lipstick & antibac handy. Love!! This one’s a Large; I’m definitely getting another in either 🌶️ Chili Red or Evergreen 🌲, might try the Small for something different, but love the Large.
The best bag!!
by: Amy G.
Absolutely obsessed with the belle bucket bag! I got the smaller one and it fits soooo much! I added my own bag chain to give it the perfect pop! So many compliments and so many asking where I got it!

This is my second Belle. My first was the small Pinkaboo. I ordered the large in Evergreen and I love her. Belle is everything I like in a bag. Hoping PLG adds more colors.
Sunshine Belle is a dream

I love the happy color and how floppy and soft she is. I got two coordinating Picasso tassels--one more spring/summer and one more fall so I can use her all the time.

Beautiful
The shape and color of this bag is next level. I have the smaller one & love how I can toss so much into the bag. The interior clip is great for pulling the sides in & then closing it up w the magnet keeps everything in its place. So glad I found this at the Charlotte outlet. A true gem!
I love this bag: the dolor, shape, and texture. It's one of my favorites
